Message from M yka Peck

Dear Parents,

I want to thank everyone who helped to make this year's Garces Gala a success!  It was a wonderful evening thanks to our chairs, Mrs. Maria Toretta and Ms. Raji Sanghera and all of their volunteers.  I also want to thank all of our sponsors and donors and everyone who bid on all of our great auction items!  Our STEM Program was our Fund a Need for this year and I am happy to report we raised $35,000 to support the growth of our STEM program.  Please mark your calendars for Saturday, March 12th.  This year we have changed "Casual Night Gala" to a "Night at the Races" fundraiser and it will be on the 12th in MLH.  The chairs are Jenny Waguespack and Suzanne Rogers and it promises to be a great night on our campus.  Our students will begin selling tickets for the opportunity to earn free dress passes.  Tickets are only $20 so I hope to see all of you there!  On Sunday, we begin our formal accreditation process.  The accreditation evaluation team will be here through Wednesday meeting with various constituent groups, observing classroom instruction, and evaluating our school.  Our accreditation team was led by Garces faculty members Jennifer Kloock, Mark Detloff, and Steve Garcia.  For the past four years, they have worked on creating the document for our evaluation.  They have done a remarkable job!  The document is extremely well done and we are proud to present it to the evaluation team.  We have begun accepting the Class of 2020 and you will see some yard signs around town welcoming them to Garces.  We thought it would be a great surprise for our future Rams to find a Garces Class of 2020 yard sign with their acceptance letter.  We have posted some of the pictures on the Garces Facebook page.  If you know of anyone who missed the application deadline, please let them know we are still accepting late applications.  In closing, thank you for all you do in support of our school.

May there always be a Garces.
Thank You to Our Gala Chairs and their Gala Committee!

A big thank you to Maria Toretta and Raji Sanghera for chairing another successful Garces Gala! It was a fabulous night - raising lots of much needed funding for our school and our STEM program.
