Economic Impact of Shale Gas Development

February 25, 2016

Folks,

A public forum regarding the scoping of a study regarding the economic impacts of shale gas development ("Fracking") in Garrett County was held at Garrett College on Wednesday February 23rd. If you were not able to attend, the following information was offered by the contractor in order for you to participate:

"1.     Online survey
The survey can be accessed on a computer or mobile device at http://marcellusshale.garrettcounty.org/study-scoping. This survey will be available until March 18, 2016. We could provide paper copies if necessary. Please contact us directly to inquire.
The survey will provide us with useful information about the priorities and concerns of the respondents, but it is an informal survey. This type of online survey is meant to gauge public perception, and is not part of a scrutinized study.
2.     Direct communication with Downstream Strategies
We welcome and will include all comments provided through email or phone conversations as part of this scoping phase. We are interested in feedback from individuals, as well as opinions from stakeholder groups.
The comments and survey results will be summarized and will be presented at a future Shale Gas Advisory Group meeting. These meetings are open to the public and all material will be available on their website at http://marcellusshale.garrettcounty.org/shale-gas-advisory-group.
Please feel free to contact me, or share this information, as necessary.
 Thank you-
