Landow and Landow Architects are proud to be the design architects for GoStride, the first of its kind group fitness studio in North America offering classes that provide high intensity yet low impact, full-body cardio workouts on a strider. A Strider is a blend of an elliptical and spin bike taking the best of both machines and combining them into one that offers the benefits of hiking, running, rowing and riding in a single class.
This 3,000 square foot center, located at 509 Boston Post Road, includes a studio with 42 striders, a reception and merchandising area with iPad check in, and men's and women's locker rooms with showers. Landow and Landow designed the interiors including the sculptural reception desk, lighting, finishes, and cantilevered wall with recessed LED strider lines. Partner in Charge Marc J. Landow AIA, NCARB says "it was a pleasure working with founders Jill Weiss, Jenny Klein, and Janet DeFrino on this exciting project and helping them to make their vision for GoStride a reality.
"We wanted the space to have a sleek modern feel and at the same time be warm and welcoming. Our studio had to reflect our brand and the newness of the exercise. Marc nailed it by taking what had been an unremarkable space and transformed it to an open, gorgeous studio with exposed ceilings and beautiful design details. We are looking forward to working with Landow & Landow for our next studio."
