Registration for the first date of the 2016 Education Series, taking place at The Vancouver Golf Club on January 25, is now open online.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES AT THE VANCOUVER GOLF & TRAVEL SHOW
The PGA of BC is seeking volunteers to assist at the Vancouver Golf & Travel Show, February 13-14, 2016.

Facilities have the opportunity to sell merchandise at the PGA of BC Retail Centre, where eight facilities took part in the program in 2015, selling over $25,000 in inventory. Instructors are also needed to assist in the PGA of BC Learning Centre.  This is a great opportunity for PGA Golf Professionals to Showcase their talents and services to the 7,000+ golf enthusiasts who attend the Show annually. 

Volunteer commitments start at only two hours per day and is a great way to earn valuable Professional Development Program (PDP) Points.  For more information and available time slots, please contact Donald Miyazaki, Executive Director at donald@pgabc.org
UPCOMING JANUARY BOARD ELECTIONS
Up to three positions on the PGA of BC's Board of Directors may be available for election in the coming weeks. Beginning next week, interested candidates will be required to submit a formal expression of interest.

Individuals located in the Lower Mainland are particularly encouraged to apply to ensure proper regional representation on the Board.

PGA OF BC RECOGNIZES TOP 100 GOLF PROFESSIONALS OF 2015
The PGA of British Columbia is proud to recognize the Top 100 Golf Professionals of 2015, as
determined by this year's Professional Development Program (PDP) presented by Sunice Order of Merit.

Additionally, we are proud to recognize Alan Palmer of Shaughnessy Golf & Country Club as the 2015 PDP point champion. Palmer accumulated a record total of 121 points through tournaments, education, and volunteerism over the past year, setting an example for the rest of the Shaughnessy team as Matt Dunn and Ashley Zibrik rounded out the top three.

GOVERNMENT FUNDS FOR SALES & MANAGEMENT TRAINING
As of January 4, 2016, applications for the new Canada Job Grant have opened, and the funds can be used towards subsidizing costs associated with sales, management, or customer service training. More information on the grant can be found here.

AGA OF BC RECREATION COMMITTEE PROGRAM SURVEY
AGA of BC is currently finalizing a survey in order to collect important data about  developmental programs run at golf facilities in British Columbia. The information collected by this survey is crucial for the future of funding for these programs by the province, so it is important that all facilities complete it.
