The Arc Pikes Peak Sweetheart Dance

DANCING THE NIGHT AWAY!
at Night to Shine & The Arc Pikes Peak Sweetheart Dance

More than 200 host churches in 48 states and 7 countries hosted Tim Tebow's Foundation  Night to Shine. More than 70,000 volunteers and 32,000 honored guests shared the same amazing prom experience on the same night around the world.

Some very special Zach's Place teens were able to participate in this event held on February 12th at the Pikes Peak Christian Church.
They received the royal treatment and were treated like Kings and Queens for the night while they were whisked away in a limo and each given crowns.

During the same Valentine's Day weekend, The Arc Pikes Peak Region held their annual 2016 Sweetheart Dance on Saturday, February 13th.  A few of our adult program participants attended the dance, which featured great music, food and fu
n. They all had a wonderful opportunity to make lasting memories!

Thanks to Trinity Brewing and all participants that attended the Giving

the support and raised a few hundred dollars to support Zach's Place program!

Working on social skills while in the community is one of the many goals
of our ICAN Program for adults.
Our group went to   Golden Corral at 1 970 Waynoka Rd CO Springs this
past week and were treated with
kindness and respect. They enjoyed
themselves and were learning at
the same time.  Thanks everyone at
Golden Corral for welcoming our group!

We'd like to thank  Red Dog Coffee

VOLUNTEER HIGHLIGHT
Air Force Cadets Squadron 12 at Zach's Place

MAKING A DIFFERENCE
Air Force Cadets

Taking time on a Saturday, about 50 Air Force Cadets from Cadet Squadron 12 came to all three of our facilities - Zach's Place program (4795 Granby Circle), our Administration offices (424 W Pikes Peak Avenue) and our Adult Services facility (3450 N Nevada Avenue) to help with cleaning, organizing, yard work, and interacting with the youth at Zach's Place.

They were a tremendous help and their "can do" attitudes and willingness to work were just what you'd expect of such a fine group of young men and women.  We appreciate all the hard work they provided and our facilities shine like new!

We will continue to welcome new groups and individuals who enjoy sharing with our ever growing family.  If you are interested in VOLUNTEERING with Special Kids Special Families, please contact our Volunteer Coordinator, Monika at 719-447-8983 or email her at [email protected].
THE NETWORK
A Networki ng & Educational Opportunity for Families

Families raising children with special needs repeatedly express frustration about not having the resources they require to not only meet their personal needs but those of their children. These requests led Special Kids Special Families to create a forum where families can learn about resources in the community as well as gain support and interact with other parents on the same journey who can relate their own personal struggles.

The Network meets on a quarterly basis. Please JOIN US for a relaxing time with people who understand what your journey is like.  If parents need childcare, please discuss when you RSVP. Pre-registration required, light refreshments will be served.
