Shir Appeal, an award-winning Jewish a capella  ensemble from Tufts University, will be performing again this year at TBC on  Friday, March 4th . They will be  bringing their voices to the family worship service -- which begins at 6:30 pm -- and doing an additional "set" during the oneg. The group has performed coast to coast, singing in a wide variety of languages and musical styles: Israeli pop and rock, traditional liturgical songs, Jewish world music, and English songs with Jewish themes.  And our own Sarah Gruen is a member of this group!  It should be a truly wonderful evening. Click here for more information!

Nicky's Family , a 2013 docudrama, tells the story of how an ordinary British stockbroker Nicholas Winton organized the rescue of 669 children from Prague just before the outbreak of World War II.  As a result of his heroic efforts, today there are over 6,000 descendants of 'Winton's Children' all over the world. Winton, now 104 years old, did not speak about these events with anyone for more than half a century. His exploits would have probably been forgotten if his wife, fifty years later, hadn't found a suitcase in the attic, full of documents and transport plans. The children that he saved, their descendants and countless others around the world continue to follow his example to do good, as chronicled in the award-winning film Nicky's Family. Suggested donation of $5. Refreshments served. The New Perspectives Documentary series is programmed and moderated by filmmaker, Megan Smith-Harris. A Q&A will follow the film.
