'Nicky's Family' Wilton Library New Perspectives Film Series
Saturday, March 12, 7:30 PM to 9:30 PM
Nicky's Family
, a 2013 docudrama, tells the story of how an ordinary British stockbroker Nicholas Winton organized the rescue of 669 children from Prague just before the outbreak of World War II. As a result of his heroic efforts, today there are over 6,000 descendants of 'Winton's Children' all over the world. Winton, now 104 years old, did not speak about these events with anyone for more than half a century. His exploits would have probably been forgotten if his wife, fifty years later, hadn't found a suitcase in the attic, full of documents and transport plans. The children that he saved, their descendants and countless others around the world continue to follow his example to do good, as chronicled in the award-winning film Nicky's Family. Suggested donation of $5. Refreshments served. The New Perspectives Documentary series is programmed and moderated by filmmaker, Megan Smith-Harris. A Q&A will follow the film.
Registration highly recommended.

Rabbi Bearman to Participate in Interfaith Panel: Common Scriptures for the Common Good: Jews, Christians & Muslims
Attend the Wilton Clergy/Wi-ACT/WLA Interfaith Lecture on
March 15 at 7:00 pm
to hear a
panel discussion by local clergy for this Interfaith Program on Common Scriptures for the Common Good: Jews, Christians & Muslims. The panel will explore what is similar -- as opposed to what separates us -- in the sacred texts of our traditions with a view to the commonalities furthering interfaith dialogue in an age when that dialogue is desperately needed. Rev. Mary Grace Williams, St. Matthew's Episcopal Church, will moderate. Our panel will be: Rabbi Rachel Bearman, Temple B'nai Chaim; Rev. Dr. Jason Coker, Wilton Baptist Church; and Dr. Kareem Adeeb, American Institute for Islamic and Arabic Studies. No charge but donations are always welcome.
Registration strongly suggested.
