Dear Bpeacers---

FROM THE FIELD TO THE BOARD ROOM

I'm thrilled to announce that Karen Vander Linde has been unanimously elected to join the Bpeace Board of Directors.

As a member and advisor since 2010, Karen embodies the essence of Bpeace.  She facilitated the deciding conversation to launch in El Salvador.  She went on our first expedition to Guatemala and helped us open up our activities there.  She is bringing the concepts of innovation and KPIs to life with our Fast Runners, and has graciously hosted Fast Runners in her Maryland home.

Karen's hands-on experience will bring a unique perspective to Board discussions and decisions, which will, in turn, benefit the entire Bpeace organization.  Please join me in congratulating her.

FROM AFGHANISTAN TO NEW YORK

Come meet Bpeace Afghanistan Program Manager Rohullah Balkhi in NYC on June 25, or tune in via webcast for a panel discussion moderated by Bpeacer Nazifa Danishgar.

Hear Balkhi describe the tough challenges faced by our Fast Runners (and other Afghans), and their successes despite them.  Also on t he panel will be Fereshteh Forough, former Bpeace Fast Runner from Herat, now living in NYC and working to educate and empower female Afghan students and Marla Gitterman, our Chief Program Officer.  Join us for an inspiring look at Afghanistan's future.
