Introduction from the Editor

In this edition of our monthly e-newsletter, we feature an article describing how the EEOC attempted to bring another lawsuit against an employer for discrimination. However, score one for the employer! Last month U.S. District Court of Maryland Judge Roger Titus granted Freeman’s motion for summary judgment and dismissed the case of EEOC vs. Freeman.

Our legal alert discusses HR 2865 Fairness and Accuracy in Employment Background Checks of 2013. This bill would provide safeguards to ensure accurate record information is utilized when accessing the Federal Bureau of Investigation criminal record system.

Finally, our tip of the month explains the duty clients have to review all information contained on background reports procured by their background screening vendor.

Please forward our e-newsletter to friends and colleagues who may benefit from our published information.

Sincerely,

e-sig
