Dear Chess Enthusiasts,

Last week's Tri-State Chess Championship VII at Bryant Park was very exciting.  We had 152 players across 7 sections and awarded over 100 huge trophies including 12 Grandmaster Cups!

The Under 1800 Section which includes adults, awarded 80% of entry fees returned as cash prizes. First place was $300 and 2nd was $215, while the Top Under 1600 prize was $170.  A link to see the winners and tournament results on our website is:

Our next Championship tournament will be another outdoor event at Bryant Park on July 12, 2015.  We look forward to another exciting experience with lots of happy prize winners :-)

The venue is centrally located in Midtown Manhattan at one of New York City's most famous well known parks.  It will take place along side the Grand Fountain Plaza and is sure to be a good time.

The Under 1800 section is once again offering 80% of entry fees returned as prizes and includes Adults as well. It is 3 rounds at G/60.

The rest of the sections do not include adults and offer our
usual assortment of over 100 giant awards, plus our very popular Grandmaster Cup to be awarded to 1st and 2nd Place in every section (including Beginner, but not U1800).

Just to remind you, our Beginner section (K-1) is unrated by the US Chess Federation.  Any players participating in the Beginner section do not have to pay USCF dues and do not need to be a USCF member.

All other sections will remain USCF rated as always.

Hope to see you there on July 12th.
