fiddler Athena Tergis
(5 string fiddle) playing tunes and songs from both sides of the Atlantic that especially
commemorate Ireland's 1916 Rebellion against British rule.
Limerick-born Moloney holds a Ph.D. in folklore and folklife from the University of Pennsylvania and currently teaches at New York University in the Irish Studies program as well as maintaining an active performing career. Athena Tergis moved to Ireland when she was 18 and became principal fiddler in Riverdance Broadway.
