Teaneck Council votes to establish multi-family residential zone
The Teaneck Council voted at its Feb. 9 meeting to adopt an ordinance establishing a new multi-family residential zone at 1500 Teaneck Road, allowing for apartments to be built at the site of a vacant two-story office building formerly occupied by Verizon. READ MORE

Property taxes could rise as much as $89 for homeowners in Tenafly in the preliminary 2016 municipal budget, according to an overview released on the borough's website. READ MORE 

Steps to take in filing a tax appeal
By New Jersey law, homeowners can not appeal property taxes, but can appeal property assessment, which correlates to how much their tax bill is. For a successful appeal, the homeowner must prove that his or her assessed value is unreasonable compared to the true market value standard. Randy Ketive Named 2016 NJR RPAC Trustee

How have you been active with  EBCBOR? What are some of the positions held or committees you have been a part of?
I have been a member of every committee of the Board. I was President from 2003 to 2004. In addition to that, I was also a Treasurer. I serve on the Legislative and Legal committees on a State Level. I have been an FCP (Federal Political Coordinator) since 1980s. I am a Trustee for the Issues Mobilization Committee. I was recently asked to serve as a Trustee of RPAC. I am an Ombudsman for the local board, and a certified instructor for CE w/ specialty in Condo and Co-Ops. Finally, I am a member of RPAC President's Circle for NAR.
 
How does EBCBOR support your career?
As a member of the Association since 1979,  EBCBOR has supported my career by fighting Realtor issues on a local level, and by keeping agents honest and ethical through education.

What do you think makes a good mentor and have you established any mentoring relationships through EBCBOR?
I believe that strong leadership makes a good mentor. I good leader must have a strong belief in the REALTOR Association, and encourage other members to be proactive with the association, not only on a local level, but on a state level as well.
 
What 3 business tips can you share with others?
Always listen.
Supply information that is valuable to the consumer.
Do your homework; not just on your properties but also on the competition and passed failed history.
 
What is the biggest challenge you have faced in business and how did you overcome it?
The biggest challenge I faced in business was during the economic down turn when the country was in a financial crisis. Despite the chaos, we to ride the storm and continued to make through bad times.
 
What are you passionate about?
My family and my business are the two things I'm most passionate about. I believe that the key to being successful is to have passion for what you do. Because passion extends to the consumer and everybody that knows me knows how passionate I am about the brand Sotheby's.

South Korea's institutional investors are putting money in debt to buy Manhattan and San Francisco skyscrapers as they flee record-low bond yields and falling shares at home. HUD and Census Bureau Report New Residential Sales in January
Sales of new single-family houses in January 2016 were at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 494,000, according to estimates released jointly today by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and the U.S. Census Bureau. This is 9.2 percent (±13.5%)* below the revised December rate of 544,000 and is 5.2 percent (±12.6%)* below the January 2015 estimate of 521,000. READ MORE
