IN THIS ISSUE:
Dear Friends,
Spring Training for the Boston Red Sox has started in Fort Myers, Florida and spring is right around the corner!

Please join us for the March 16th FEI Boston Executive Event, where we will host  Glenn MacInnes, executive vice president and chief financial officer of Webster Financial Corporation (NYSE: WBS) and Webster Bank. He joined Webster in 2011 and was selected to Institutional Investor magazine's 2015 All-America Executive Team with a Top 3 ranking for Best Chief Financial Officer in the Banks/Mid-cap category as nominated by the Sell-Side. In addition, Glenn contributed to Webster's inclusion among America's 136 Most Honored Companies under Institutional Investor's 2015 All-America Executive Team. Prior to that, Glenn was chief financial officer at NewAlliance Bancshares for two years.

In January 2016, Webster assumed the leases of 14 Citibank Boston branches that the New York bank closed. This transaction has given the company critical mass overnight in Boston and has the potential to be a billion dollar deposit market for Webster over time. Webster Bank is the 35th largest commercial bank in the nation with $24.7B in assets, serving consumers, small and middle market businesses. Webster entered the Boston market in 2009, opening a flagship banking center in the heart of the Financial District at 100 Franklin Street, in the space once occupied by the Boston Stock Exchange. Webster has immersed itself in the greater Boston community through charitable contributions and the volunteerism of dozens of local bankers who donate their time and talents to a wide variety of nonprofit and civic organizations.

We are very excited to hear his thoughts on the state of the economy and economic trends that he is seeing at Webster that will have a significant impact for businesses in 2016.

MEET A BOARD MEMBER: JAMES JARRET
I joined FEI three years ago in New York City to meet other financial professionals and take control of my professional development.  I moved to Boston two years ago for my wife's job without a network or experience looking for a job.  I found all my prior jobs through old bosses, clients and colleagues.  FEI's Career Services events were an extremely important part of my job search while the mentorship and coaching I received from fellow members proved invaluable.  Read More
