United for Good

Hello Friends of Foothills United Way,

September 11 is remembered as a day of great tragedy and loss because of what we saw in 2001 and what we experienced locally in 2013 with the flood. This year, however, a sense of hope and goodwill shone through September 11 at Foothills United Way's Day of Caring. Nearly 1,000 of our friends and neighbors chose to volunteer their energy and passion to make Broomfield and Boulder counties a better place.

The idea of a community banding together in pursuit of a common objective is not new in our nation or in our community. One individual may be able to achieve a lot, but as a group we can achieve so much more. Our community knows this well as 120 individuals and organizations joined together to support flood-impacted neighbors for the last 24 months. Houses and lives were rebuilt or repaired thanks to people coming together with the same goal.

Foothills United Way firmly believes that our community has the resources, the creativity, and the heart, to take care of some of our largest challenges.  But we believe just as passionately that we have to work in collaboration to get there.

We are committed to and have been working on collaborations in our community for years. We've partnered with others to build the P.I.E. program and have come together with mountain community leaders to create innovative programs to help those in need in the mountain region. We have also been partnering with several organizations to improve early childhood success and more!

We're intent on investing in collective efforts, giving nonprofits and other institutions a reason to work together, agree on a common goal and coordinate strategies for a greater result than any of us can achieve on our own. If you believe that uniting behind a goal is powerful, please join us and LIVE UNITED!

Sincerely,

Douglas Yeiser
President and CEO, Foothills United Way

Mountain Communities

Foothills United Way has been present and active in the mountain communities in western Boulder County. Along with providing grants to agencies, we've been an active leader in building collaborative community efforts like the Inter-Mountain Alliance and the Peak-to-Peak Housing and Human Services Task Force.

The Peak-to-Peak Housing and Human Services Task Force holds monthly meetings to discuss the mountain regions most pressing issues. Check out what was discussed in the September meeting!
