Digital Art Exhibit
Call to Artists Extended

The deadline for the Art League of Lincoln's Digital Art Exhibit  has passed, but due to some technical difficulties, we are extending the deadline through  February 28th .
Living Art Treasures Reception

What a fabulous tribute for two special people!  The reception for our Living Art Treasures, Dick Ketelle and Tommie Moller, had the gallery bursting at the seams.  Folks were lined up out the door waiting to get in, see the art, and, most importantly talk to Dick and Tommie and thank them for all they've done for the arts.

Over a hundred people came to honor Tommie and Dick, who both were thrilled and overwhelmed by the turnout.  Bill Szabo, curator of the exhibit, said that he had wanted to honor these two people who had such an influence in the art world of Placer County.  Bill felt something special was needed, so he contacted local government officials to see if they would give some type of recognition to Dick and Tommie.  And the response was great - Assemblywoman Beth Gaines, State Senator Ted Gaines and Placer County Supervisor Robert Weygandt all provided special letters of commendation for their noteworthy contributions to the arts.

The reception gave everyone a time to mix, mingle and admire the selection of art.  Both Dick and Tommie were "holding court" with admirers - at one time, as Dick and his wife Audrey were attempting to leave, they were waylaid at the entrance by fans and someone brought out chairs for Dick and Audrey, so the "holding court" could continue.

The ambiance was great, the art fabulous and the food and wine tasty - no disagreements on that.

Thank you to all who attended.

The Living Art Treasures Exhibit continues through Saturday, March 5.
