CACN Welcomes Cherith Sinasac as the New Program Coordinator

Cherith will lead all programs for the Canadian Anti-Counterfeiting Network (CACN), including marketing and promotions, event management and facilitating the Steering Committee. She can be reached at  cacn@electrofed.com .

The next stop on the CACN Reality Tour will be in Montreal on April 18, 2016 



The CACN Reality Tour is an opportunity for brand owners to share valuable anti-counterfeiting information & training to law enforcement, custom agencies and related government officials. 



The CACN Reality Tour continues in Quebec City on April 19, 2016.
 


At each stop of our tour, participates will learn how to identify counterfeit goods, be provided with industry best practises, and examine case studies of enforcement measures.

Countering the Growing Intellectual Property Theft Threat

Romanian Customs Seize EUR 845,000 Worth Of Counterfeits

The seized products included men's jackets, ball bearings, headphones, mini radios, toy cars and balls, believed to infringe DSquared, Hermes, SKF, Volkswagen, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Smiley, Spiderman, Angry Birds, Audi, Mercedes Benz, BMW and Land Rover trademarks, among others.
Volume of smuggled, counterfeit products in Turkey above $17 bln

The total volume of smuggled and pirated products in Turkey has surpassed $17 billion, according to the Brand Protection Group (MKG), an İstanbul-based private sector initiative set up to fight illegal trade.

New Report:  The Future of Brand Protection
 


Michigan State University's 
Center for Anti-Counterfeiting and Product Protection - in partnership with Underwriters Laboratories - has released a report entitled " Brand Protection 2020: Perspectives on the Issues Shaping the Global Risk and Response to Product Counterfeiting". 

This report  identifies and discusses critical aspects of the counterfeiting problem that need to be considered over the next five years.
