Back on My Feet to Launch in San Francisco
Dear Friends, Supporters and Fellow Runners,

We are thrilled to announce that Back on My Feet will be expanding our innovative program to San Francisco in November 2016. The expansion will take place during National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week and will combat homelessness in San Francisco through the power of running, community support and essential employment and housing resources.

Since launching in 2007, Back on My Feet has served more than 5,500 individuals experiencing or at risk of homelessness and engaged more than 100,000 supporters. Our members have run a collective 500,000 miles and, with our support, obtained more than 3,500 jobs and homes. We are proud of our national impact so far and the individual achievements of each of our members. However, we also know, there is so much more work to be done.

Back on My Feet San Francisco will help San Francisco's homeless community, which has grown to more than 7,500 individuals, marking the city's highest homeless population in a decade. It's clear to see the extent of the homelessness issue as you walk or drive through the downtown area of San Francisco. So many individuals suffering and a community facing challenging questions on how to help. We are confident that our program can have a strong, meaningful and lasting impact, as it has done in all the cities we currently operate. Expanding to San Francisco is the beginning of a new growth phase for Back on My Feet and part of our goal to expand to 5 additional U.S. cities and internationally by 2020.

Through the help of volunteers, donors, and community support, our unique running-based model demonstrates that if you  first build confidence, strength and self-esteem, individuals are better equipped to tackle the road ahead and move toward jobs, homes and new lives. Our recent economic impact study shows that, for every $1 invested in the Back on My Feet, there is a $2.39 return to the local community. This is achieved through increased economic output from employment and reduction in costs for shelter, medical services, incarceration and addiction treatment.

Help us bring our restorative, impactful and life-changing program to San Francisco. We are currently seeking seed funding to support the launch, individuals interested in joining our local Board and corporate sponsorships for our first annual gala to be held January 2017.

Happy Running,
Katy Sherratt, CEO

Back on My Feet National Board Expands Too!

We welcome three new members to the National Board of Directors. Brent Wyper, Assurance Partner, Ernst & Young, brings his business acumen to Back on My Feet. Brent has actively served on Back on My Feet Atlanta's Advisory Board for 3 years as Treasurer and also runs with Back on My Feet Atlanta.  Last year, Brent, a fellow Atlanta board member, and an alumni member ran the Boston Marathon together, raising over $30,000 for BoMF!

Joining Brent on the National Board is Vince Melchiorre, Senior Vice President, Bimbo Bakeries USA. With an extensive and impressive career in the food industry, we're excited to bring Vince's vast expertise to the National Board. Bimbo Bakeries is one of Back on My Feet's most impactful and important national partners with a long history of incredible support for the organization and the members we serve.

Rounding out the three new additions is Patrick Coyne, Accenture Workplace Solutions, Global Managing Director, joining the board from Chicago. Patrick was a founding advisory board member of the Back on My Feet Chicago chapter. His enthusiasm for Back on My Feet has inspired hundreds of Accenture employees to mentor members, coach them in business skills, review their resumes, and of course, run alongside them.

Back on My Feet is excited to work with our new National Board members to continue to grow and strengthen our program.
