Tree Appraisal Survey
CTLA needs your feedback

Do you perform tree appraisals? The Council of Tree and Landscape Appraisers (CTLA) is actively working on the 10th Edition of the Guide for Plant Appraisal. To ensure the Guide will be useful to arborists, representatives of the Council are soliciting information from arborists who do appraisals. If you appraise trees, take the appraisal survey to provide information on the types of appraisals you do and the methods you use.

Research Needs Assessment Survey
Looking at tree research needs

ISA and TREE Fund have completed a joint research needs assessment project. The main goals of the project were to identify the research needs and interests of the arboriculture community and to help the two organizations proactively support the research needed for the long-term growth of the profession. To accomplish these goals, a survey was sent to a representative sample of ISA members, and more than 2,500 survey responses were tabulated. A final report summarizes the survey’s key findings, implications of the findings for ISA and TREE Fund, and recommendations for actions to take based on these implications.

Documenting Evidence - Practical Guidance for Arborists, by Julian A. Dunster, Foreword by Nelda Matheny

If your work requires that you collect information (evidence) and analyze it to form opinions and prepare reports or testify, this book is for you. The framework and principles described will help professionals performing a variety of services including testifying as an expert, diagnosing problems, resolving disputes, completing accident reports, and even assessing trees.

This book is a guide for anyone collecting and documenting information and then using that evidence to help form opinions, make decisions or develop recommendations. Key ideas are clearly illustrated, often in a case study type of format, with illustrative photographs and graphics.
