Message from WHS School Nurse - Spring Sports Registration!

Spring sport physicals are due in the Nurse's Office by March 10.

All students athletes are required to have a current physical examination on file in the Nurse's Office before a student can tryout, practice or participate in a sport as required by the MIAA guidelines.

The Athletic Office or individual coaches will not accept physical examination reports.

If your student has a current physical examination on file in the Nurse's Office and it is NOT due to expire you do not need to provide another copy.

If your student's physical exam expires during the sport season, your student will no longer be able to participate until a new physical examination has been obtained and is on file in the Nurse's Office.

PLEASE NOTE: Late submission of physicals delays the student from any athletic activity until all the registration requirements are completed.

Computer Science Club - Parent Mentors Needed!

The WHS Computer Science Club is looking for one or two parent volunteers who have computer security skills and can mentor a team in the Air Force's  CyberPatriot competition

This is the second year we have had a team in the competition with Mr Martin Chiu as the mentor.  The team has done very well, earning second place in Massachusetts this year.  We have enough interest to form one (or two) additional teams for the 2016-17 school year.

The role of a mentor is described in this   fact sheet.  While I am officially the "coach" of the teams, the mentor plays the traditional coaching role.

Thank you!

Navy Band to Perform at WHS - Reserve Your Seat!

The United States Navy Band, which performs at Presidential inaugurations and other state ceremonies, will be performing on Monday, March 7 at 7:00 p.m at Wellesley High School.

The event is free for all to attend, but seating is limited.  Currently, we are only accepting people on a waiting list but we hope to open up more seats in a few weeks.  Get your name on the list now so you can get first access to any seats we release.  Reserve your seat.

We need many volunteers, beyond those in performing arts, to make this event a success. We are looking for a number of parents to fill slots the evening of the performance, none of which will keep you from attending the concert.   Please Click Here to volunteer.

Any questions, email Sharon Lowe at [email protected].

Junior Class Auction is in full swing!

Thank you to the many parents who have stepped up to help in countless ways!

If you are still looking to become involved, please contact Wendi McKenna ([email protected]).  There is plenty still to be done - jobs large and small!   Please join us at Wendi McKenna's home (12 Solon St) Thursday, February 25th at 7:30pm.

Family donations are a significant source of auction items; we hope you will consider making a donation!  Some examples of items donated by families in the past are: tickets to sporting events or concerts; autographed items - such as sports memorabilia; rounds of golf or paddle tennis outings; services - such as decorating, landscaping and photography; parties - theme, dinner or wine-tasting  (these are enormously successful!) or gift certificates to your favorite store or service.  A cash donation is always appreciated!  Please think about a contribution from your family.  All donations can be made using the very simple online donation form which you can find on the auction website:  whsauction.org.

Most importantly, mark your calendars for Saturday April 9 to attend The Junior Class Auction, 7:00 at WHS!!  Connect with friends after our long, cold New England winter and support your child's junior class!!
