A week after Iowa held its caucuses, it was our turn to be in Des Moines and Ames. It was an intensive speaking schedule. The weather outside was bitterly cold, but the friendliness extended to us was exceptionally warm and welcoming!
The luxurious Downtown Marriott Hotel provided our week's lodging as a community service, which was so good of them. Yes, it is a comfortable hotel in which to stay. Thank you, thank you, Christine!

Included among the venues were Iowa State University, Drake University, Rotary Club of Ames, Ames High School, Dowling Catholic High School, Goodrell Middle School and Stilwell Junior High School.
Patricia Miller, Director of Lectures Program of Iowa State University, did an outstanding job arranging the schedule for my visit.
Spencer Cain was the catalyst for this visit. I was fortunate to have sat next to Spencer (currently a senior at Iowa State) a year ago on another flight from Minneapo
lis to Des Moines, but that story will have to wait for more
amplification at a later time! Spencer is a most special and outstanding young man, and I'm so very grateful to have met him!
PS Off to schools in Wilmington, NC tomorrow!
