Cycling uses fitness - Training builds fitness
Cycling Tip of the Week
The HEAT and HUMIDITY are really coming on strong - so AVOID the FRISKY PONY SYNDROME. Don't shoot out of the gate like a rocket. Get a steady pace going with a reasonable 70% to 80% of max heart rate. For longer routes (more than 2 hours on the road) make sure that you drink 10 to 20 ounces of water per hour and eat 100 to 125 calories per hour. Heat makes your body burn more calories to stay cool - so get the right habits going early in the ride.

Tour de Paris July 18

Still one of my favorite Small Town bike rides as we get ready for the Hotter 'N Hell Hundred. Always plenty of heat and humidity without too many hills. Friendly volunteers at the Break Points along the routes and several distance options. FREE hamburgers after the ride in air-conditioned comfort.

Have A Great Ride With The
Lone Star Cyclists on June 20

This local cycling club has been putting together this great cycling tour since back in the 80s. A perennial favorite with area cyclists - this ride offers several distance options, good volunteer support and a variety of food options $$ after the ride. It should be a good day for a bike ride!
