Anne Pramaggiore, President and CEO of ComEd, spoke with the
Huffington Post about her career journey and her thoughts on leadership, mentorship, and women in the workplace.

"I urge women, really any one, seeking a career in energy to focus on career more as a series of learning experiences - skill-building opportunities -- and less as a path to a specific end, she says. "I believe when you focus so intently on a specific outcome or desired position; you sometimes miss the very interesting and life-changing opportunities that might be sitting off in your peripheral vision." SPOTLIGHT ON GLORIA SANTONA
Gloria Santona, EVP, General Counsel, Secretary of McDonald's Corporation, was profiled in The National Law Journal celebrating diversity in Chicago's legal departments. When she joined the legal department of McDonald's Corp. right out of law school in the late 1970s, Gloria became the 13th attorney, the fourth woman and the fourth minority member on the staff. Looking back on those numbers today, she remains astounded.

"So when you think about a legal department in 1977 that was almost a third women and almost a third minorities, that's really something," Gloria Santona said. "And I don't think that was by accident." Diversity has been very much a part of the McDonald's legal team's DNA. "You get better decisions when you have people who think about things differently. You get the breakthroughs when you have a group of people who are different, and it's more fun and exciting for me," said Gloria Santona. Read more...
