Remembering Fernando Cardenal, SJ
We will remember Fr. Fernando Cardenal SJ at our 9 pm Mass this Sunday.  Fr.  Cardenal died February 20th.  Born in 1934 in Granada, Nicaragua, he led a life of advocacy and active commitment to the poor that emulated the Jesuit approach to injustice throughout the Americas.  For more information see  Ignatian Solidarity Network .  John Carroll students who visited Nicaragua over the last ten years will remember him as an inspirational part of their encounter with issues of social justice. Taize service, 2/22
Come to St. Francis Chapel at 7pm on Monday,   (tomorrow!) for a program of music and reflection in the tradition of Taize. This is a perfect way to enter into the mystery & sacredness of Lent .

Lenten Evening of Confession, 2/24
Gesu Church is hosting an evening of Confession on Wednesday, February 24th from 5-8 pm.  Confessors will be available during this entire three hour period.

Spring Break Mass Schedule
There is no Sunday Mass next Sunday, Feb. 28th. On March 6th there will be a 9pm Mass but no  6pm Mass.

Call to Continuing Conversation
Several students will be recognized at the 6pm Mass today as they continue to prepare to receive sacramental initiation during the Easter season. Please pray for them, and for our student Adrianna Deptula who will be baptized at the Easter vigil at Gesu Church.

Orthodox Christian Fellowship Service Trip, 3/12
The Orthodox Christian Fellowship is having a service trip on  Saturday, March 12th  at St. Herman's Orthodox House of Hospitality.  It's a men's shelter that has been serving the Cleveland community for almost 40 years. We will be cooking and serving lunch to over 120 people, and need your help. The van will leave from John Carroll at  8:30am  and return by  3pm To register contact  Nicholas.

Embrace, Not Disgrace, 2/22
Gurnit Chima, the winner of Rev. Dr. Valentino Lassiter "Continuing the Dream" award will hold a workshop entitled "Embrace, not disgrace!"  addressing how stereotypes evolve over time and our means of dispelling them.

The award recognizes excellence in service, leadership, academic achievement and commitment to Christian values. Students, faculty and staff must submit nominations by 5pm Friday, February 26th. Join the JCU team running in the Rock Cystic Fibrosis race in Michigan on March 20. Lodging & transportation provided.
