2014 General Assembly

Hello,

Thanks to everyone who came to our Meet and Greet Coffee, it was wonderful to be able to talk to all of you about your hopes and concerns for the 2014 legislative session. My office will be following up so that specific questions and concerns are addressed promptly For those of you who could not make this event, we are planning another coffee soon in South Laurel.

The Governor submitted his budget and the respective House and Senate legislative committees are actively holding budget hearings and preparing recommendations. The home page of the General Assembly Website contains links to the budget documents, as well as a very helpful fiscal briefing document. The fiscal briefing document contains summaries and helpful charts; you can access it here: http://mgaleg.maryland.gov .

Two of my local county initiatives have passed the Prince George's Delegation and are moving onto the standing House Committees: PG305-14, which would continue the good work of the Juvenile Court and School Safety Workgroup, and PG417-14, which would have the Prince George's Department of Environmental Resources issue a report to the Prince George's Delegation regarding various facets of the implementation of the Clean Water Act, to clarify and bring transparency to this important issue. You can read the bills on the Prince George's Delegation website.

If you have any questions or concerns about issues, feel free to contact my office by phone at 301-858-3101/410-841-3101 or by email at: [email protected] and we will be happy to assist you.

Stay warm and safe during this so far frigid winter.

Sincerely,

 Geraldine
