The registration process for the 2016-2017 school year is now in full swing with new opportunities for students and parents to consider. In order for your child to be registered for next year, there are two parts to the process that need to be completed: registration and course selection:
1. Registration paperwork: Parents were mailed the registration packet on Monday, Feb. 1. I
t contained directions on how to complete the online registration and pay the registration fee online. All students planning to return to CJ for the 2016-2017 school year should complete and submit these items no later than Tuesday,
Mar. 15.
2. Course requests: Students will be given course selection sheets that include recommended courses to take on
Friday, Feb. 26. Parents and students are encouraged to review this information along with the
course catalog and make decisions about what courses the student should request. Students should make an appointment with their counselor if they have questions about what courses to select, and must return their course selection sheets to their homeroom teachers on
Monday, Mar. 7. After the counselors review the requests, parents will receive a form to verify and approve the requests as well.
As you plan, please remember that CJ offers summer courses in Physical Education, Health, and Visual Arts. More information about these courses may be found

Finally, Ohio has recently created the College Credit Plus (CCP) program. This program allows college ready high school students to take college courses for free while they are still in high school. While this is a great opportunity for qualified high school students, there are many things to consider before having a student participate in CCP. CJ is hosting a CCP informational meeting on
Monday, Feb. 29 at 6:30 p.m. in the cafeteria for parents and students who are interested in learning more about this opportunity. I invite you to attend and learn more about CCP.

CJ Art Student Show & Award Ceremony

All are invited to attend a free art show and awards ceremony featuring CJ Art I student's artwork. The event will be on Thursday, Mar. 3 at 6 p.m. at the Packard Museum (
420 S. Ludlow Street). Parking will be available in the CJ parking lots, street parking, or at Genuine Auto Parts (32 Franklin Street).

CJ Fish Fry
Saturday, Mar. 19 | 6-11 p.m. | CJ
The annual CJ Fish Fry will be held on Saturday, Mar, 19 from 6-11 p.m. Guests ages 21 and over are invited to enjoy food, games and a silent auction. Dinner begins at 6 p.m. and games start at 7 p.m.
Pre-sale tickets are $12 and are available from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. for cash-only in the athletic office, or cash or credit card in the development office. Tickets may also be purchased by phone using credit card by calling Ann Szabo in the development office at 461-3740 x232.
Pre-sale tickets will stop being sold on Friday, Mar. 18. Tickets at the door will be $15.

CJ Blood Drive - PARENT INVOLVEMENT

The CJ Blood Drive is on Friday, Feb. 26 in the CJ Gym. This year's theme is "We are Leapin' to Give Blood!" in honor of the leap year. Anyone who is at least 16 years old and weighs at least 110 pounds is eligible to give blood. If you would like to donate blood, please stop by Mary, Our Lady of Victory gym between 8:45 a.m. - 1 p.m. on Feb. 26. Students donating blood must have a parent permission slip signed. WSU/Sinclair Double Degree Program
Applications Available Now
Wright State University and Sinclair have teamed up to give students more options and the complete college experience while working towards a degree in several different areas. Students start their degree program at Sinclair, transfer to WSU to finish their degree program, save money on tuition, and are able to live on campus at WSU, all through the Double Degree Program. Job Shadowing Opportunities
Premier Health Network & WPAFB
Juniors and seniors at least 16 years old are eligible to participate in a job shadow day at one of the Premier Health facilities in the Miami Valley. Job shadowing is offered one Thursday each month of the year, including in the summer, from 8 a.m. - 12 p.m. More details, including an application packet, can be found

Class of 2019
Computer Skills Testing Course - DUE MARCH 15
All students are required to complete the Computer Topics class before graduating from CJ. However, students are given the opportunity during their freshman year to test out of the class if they so desire. Testing out requires demonstrating competency in four areas - keyboarding, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

. Students are strongly urged to complete the training before taking the tests. All four tests must be successfully completed by March 15, 2016 or the student will need to enroll in the Computer Topics class next year.

Students interested in rowing are invited to come to the SCC during conditioning and give it a try, no commitment required and no experience needed! As part of a school project, a student at Centerville High School is reaching out to other schools to help collect new and gently used blankets which will be given to homeless in our area. Any contributions can be turned into the Welcome Center.
