The 10th Annual Boy Scouts Building Connections event will be held on Thursday, September 18, 2014, from 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm. This year's exciting venue is the Michigan Science Center in Detroit.

At Building Connections, everyone receives VIP treatment.
Several levels of sponsorship are available! We have currently received over $80,000 in sponsorship pledges - but we're still striving to reach our goal! M-1 Rail Recap: Third Week of Construction
Detroit-based Farrow Group, Inc. worked alongside construction manager Stacy and Witbeck, Inc. to unload the first shipments of rail that came from Indiana. These shipments represent one-third of all rail that will be used for the project, with the rest slated to be delivered next year. Each "stick" of track is 80 feet long and weighs about one-and-a-half tons.
Interestingly, crews also discovered rail that was buried under Woodward Avenue and was used for Detroit's original streetcar system. As new rail is delivered, old rail is uncovered, tying our past to our future. On April 8th, 1956, the last streetcar left Detroit. Now, 58 years later, we're working to bring them back.
A Look Ahead:
Construction along Woodward Avenue continues to occur simultaneously in both Midtown and Downtown. Midtown construction is comprised of partial lane closures-there are no full lane closures in the Midtown neighborhood. Downtown between Adams St. to just north of Campus Martius remains a full closure. All sidewalks remain open and pedestrian bridges have been installed over work sites.
