Part 2 - History and Key Provisions
The
Firefighters Procedural Bill of Rights (FBOR) offers first responders a set of comprehensive, common sense workplace protections. California Professional Firefighters won passage of this important measure in 2007, capping a 20-year effort.
This week, CPF continues a series of videos designed to help front-line firefighters better understand their rights and responsibilities in disciplinary proceedings under FBOR.
Part II - A Critical Protection. In this second installment, CPF Firevision details the history and key provisions of the Firefighters Bill of Rights.

CalPERS has lined up its next three Benefits Education Events, which provide information about retirement and health benefits, supplemental savings options, Social Security and long-term care. among other things.
Representatives from a variety of programs will be on hand to discuss dental and vision benefits, the state's employee assistance program, group legal services plans and more.

New research using high-tech tools to measure the moisture in trees found that 120 million trees across nearly every part of California are at risk of dying. Predictions that trends of higher temperatures and decreased precipitation will continue in the future could transform the state's forests.

BRAKES PUT ON CALIFORNIA INMATE FIREFIGHTER EXPANSION THE DENVER POST, 2/21/2016
California's new corrections chief is backing off a plan to lower standards for inmate firefighters, focusing instead on persuading county sheriffs to send more jail prisoners to the state program.
Scott Kernan, who took over last month as secretary of the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, said in an interview with The Associated Press that he expects California will have enough inmate firefighters for this year's fire season despite a dwindling pool of candidates from state prisons.
