Do you know the Static Coefficient of Friction (SCOF) of your building's walking surfaces?

Under the ANSI/NFSI B101 standard, facility owners are now accountable for the slip resistance of the walkways in their building.

Myers Supply's certified floor safety technicians can help reduce your risk of costly lawsuits. We can develop a complete program including training, products, SCOF testing and standard operating procedures to ensure you are meeting the current ANSI/NFSI B101 Floor Safety Standards.

ANSI/NFSI B101 Floor Safety Standard defines three "Traction Levels" or wet SCOF ranges:

High Traction (SCOF of 0.6+)
Moderate Traction (SCOF of 0.4 - 0.6)
Low Traction (SCOF of <0.4)

According to NFSI, floors that measure a wet static coefficient of friction at 0.6 or greater are considered high traction and can reduce slip-and-fall claims by up to 90 percent.

The ADA guidelines also recommend a 0.6 SCOF for flat surfaces and 0.8 SCOF for ramps.

Is your daily cleaner putting you
at risk?

ProBlend SureGrip Daily Cleaner

SureGrip Daily Cleaner is the first line of defense in the battle against slippery floors. Unlike most cleaner, it is soap, enzyme and alkaline free. Common daily cleaners leave residue behind, and after repeated use, this residue will turn a wet floor into a serious slip hazard. SureGrip Daily Cleaner emulsifies and suspends oil, grease and other contaminates, lifting from deep in the microscopic pores of the floor surface. Once the grease and dirt is emulsified, it can easily be extracted or rinsed away, leaving the floor surface residue free. When SureGrip Cleaner is used daily, it will reduce the occurrence of polymerization, greatly improving surface traction.  For more information click here.
