Virtue of the month: Optimism
Optimism is expecting the best. It is a feeling or belief that good things will happen in the future. When you have optimism, you believe something will turn out successfully.

We welcome the new year with confidence and cheerfulness, looking forward to positive outcomes in our collective work.

Eastside Pathways News

Happy to announce that Eastside Pathways has been selected as a 2016 Boeing community grantee!  Thank you @BoeingAirplanes, for supporting every child step by step, from cradle to career.

To kick off the new year, five representatives of Eastside Pathways attended the regional convening for the Campaign for Grade-Level Reading. Six other Campaign communities from Washington and Oregon also attended. Each community shared their key achievements and challenges over the past year. Several speakers also shared ideas and resources in the areas of attendance, early learning, developmental screenings, and summer learning. The Washington communities are scheduled for a follow-up conversation about attendance in February with representatives of Attendance Works and the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction.
Eastside Pathways is accepting proposals from partner organizations for the 2016 Bill Henningsgaard Fund for Children Grant through February 15, 2016

The purpose of the grant is to assist in bettering the lives of and creating opportunities for children of all ages through leveraged programs in Bellevue.  We know that regular attendance leads to students learning at their highest levels and being successful overall. Therefore, in 2016, we are eager to fund a program that supports the Eastside Pathways initiative related to increasing attendance and/or being in school on time for students of all ages.

You can view the grant guidelines and access the scoring tool with specific details on Eastside Pathways' website. If you have any questions regarding criteria and eligibility, please submit to bhfund@eastsidepathways.org
