As a member of the Board of Education for Montgomery County, I certainly wish to express my appreciation of the educational value that this operation will bring to the County.  Of course there is also the pleasant feeling of nostalgia because the presentation of these old museum pieces will provide a yardstick to emphasize the speed and progress that has been made in the field of transportation in recent years.

From remarks by William P. Coyle, Director of Public Relations and Business Development for
Suburban Trust Company  at the Museum groundbreaking ceremony, November 20, 1965

STIB 9060 Arrives May 27, 2016

Following a recommendation from the acquisitions committee, the trustees approved acquisition of STIB 9060 from the collection of Claude Sabot in Gibson, British Columbia.

STIB 9060 offers the Museum the option of an operable, single truck closed car, especially important during cold weather when STIB 1069 cannot be used (it has no heat).  Together, the two Belgian cars will allow us to interpret single truck car operation year round for our visitors as a contrast to the larger and more modern PCC cars typically operated at the Museum.
