Mr. Reniewicki has been teaching high school students for 34 years, and 32 of those years have been at Arcadia!  He is passionate about teaching Physics and students look forward to his Rube Goldberg assignment every year.   He also teaches Earth Science at Arcadia.

The 28th  Annual Clean Air Campaign awards luncheon was held on October 28, 2015.  Arcadia High School was selected as the winner for the People's Choice Most Creative Bulletin Board.  Below is Arcadia High School's message:
 
"To survive in today's economy, it's important to save money and reduce stress.  Arcadia High School is informing teachers and students that public transportation, bicycling and carpooling are environmentally-friendly ways to save money."
 
Michele Gann, administrative assistant at AHS, was in charge of creating the bulletin board to help spread this message.  Way to go Michele!

Embrace the Madness - Arcadia Auction
First Auction Planning Mtg:Thurs, Nov 5 at 9:30 am 

Auction Chair, Lezlie Richardson, is hosting a planning breakfast at her home on Thursday, November 5 at 9:30am.  All sorts of volunteer opportunities available for the Embrace the Madness Auction on March 18, 2016 at Arizona Country Club. If you are interested, and have not received any email information, please email Lezlie for her address and/or email her if you'd like to help in some way.

The auction is Arcadia PTO's largest fundraiser of the year, it takes a lot of teamwork to make this night a success. The PTO sincerely thanks all volunteers in advance for your dedication in making the Arcadia Embrace the Madness Auction a Slam Dunk!

Future Titan Night & Senior Night: A Huge Success!!

The PTO would like to sincerely thank Spiritline, STuGo, CMAS, the Football Booster families, Marching Band, Chorus, Chaos Corner and the many

 volunteers for your tremendous amount of #TitanPride!  

The bleachers were jam packed full of Titans - big and small!

Congratulations to the Varsity football team for their 30-13 victory over McClintock Friday night.  The Titans were led by outstanding efforts from Jalen Israel, Cameron Brown, Dylan Turelli, and  the whole offensive line.  The victory clinched a fifth seed in the playoffs, and the Titans will host Bradshaw Mountain this Friday night at 7.  This will be an AIA sanctioned game, so students will be charged a $5 admission charge.  Come support the Titans!

 


Arcadia Alumnus, Jody Farley-Berens (Class of 1995), Nominated for CNN Hero of the Year!!!
Jody founded Singleton Moms, a non-profit organization dedicated to bringing hope, help and practical support to struggling single parents battling cancer and she deserves our vote!!! Jody started this journey with losing a long-time friend to cancer and has now been selected as a Top 10 Finalist for CNN Heroes.

2nd Annual Football Camp for Youth with Autism
Thursday, November 5
6pm-7:30pm

 

Last year  CoachAbt  and  SARRC  created a special football experience for both the participants and our Varsity players.  On Thursday night, November 5 at 6pm,  we will be hosting the  2nd Annual Football Camp for Youth with Autism .  Please feel free to come out and watch from the bleachers and pass this information along to any families in our community who might benefit from this event.  The Varsity players will serve as the "coaches" for this incredible event.

Randy Stoltz, of Campus Advisors, will speak to parents on  TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 10th at 7pm at Arcadia High School in Mt. Olympus. In order for families to understand the total college cost, it's important to know the facts of what funding opportunities exist and those that have changed.  This FREE  "College Costs 9-1-1: Get Real or Go Broke" is vitally important as college costs have risen dramatically and life's necessities dig into college savings (if any).  

 Discussions and Answers to questions such as:
  • How much will college REALLY cost?
  • What loans are available and how do we avoid taking out too much?
  • The truth about scholarships and "the full ride"
  • Can you send your child to a private university for less cost than a state school?

ARCADIA GIRLS XCC TEAM QUALIFIES FOR STATE; RENIEWICKI TOPS SECTION COMPETITION
 
Congratulations to the Arcadia Girls Cross Country team in qualifying for the State Meet at the Cave Creek Golf Course on Saturday, Nov. 7. The girls team finished second out of 18 teams at the Section meet on October 30. Megan Reniewickicontinued her winning ways and cruised to First Place honors. Avery Daniels and Lena Halden also earned medals in the Section competition by finishing 4th and 6th, respectively. Megan, Avery and Lena also earned First Team All Section honors.The other Arcadia runners rounding out the State team are Sarah Jacobs, Alexis Harger, Jane Bullington and Amber Harger.

As the Major League Baseball season is wrapping up the the Fall Classic, the Arcadia Titan Baseball Team anxiously awaits their 2016 season, which is rapidly approaching! 100 Days to be exact!

Parent meeting for all players interested in trying out for baseball on Monday November 16 at 6pm in Mount Olympus.  Meeting will consist of program expectations, tryout format, player/parent contracts, season schedule, fundraising, etc. Please plan on attending as this will be the only meeting leading up to the season.  If you have any questions, please contact me at [email protected].

Your generosity provides the resources needed to make the most of their hard work and talent.  Our program strives to build character, integrity and responsibility in each of our students. Club Interact Needs your Help!

Food Needed to Provide our Blood Donor's a Good Breakfast

Club Interact is responsible for planning and bringing the blood drives to Arcadia. Last year we had many problems with students after their blood was taken (fainting, nausea, feeling sick) because they had not gotten the proper nutrition before-hand.

This year we are inviting our Arcadia Families to help us provide a healthy breakfast for student donors to show our appreciation and also prevent last year's problems and ultimately have a more successful blood drive.

Arcadia Soccer Club
Cleat Drive Nov 9-13
Help give your old cleats a new home by donating to the Arcadia Soccer Club Cleat Drive!  Any used sport cleats will be collected in the bins around campus between the 9th & 13th of November.  All cleats collected will be donated to the Boys and Girls Club of Guadalupe.  Whether you have old soccer, football or baseball cleats, do not let go to waste!  You can find the donation bins in the cafeteria, the office and Mr. Van Ness' classroom.  For any questions email [email protected].  Help us give old cleats a new home!

Spirit of Arcadia Marching Band Wins Two Awards 

Spirit of Arcadia Marching Band competed in the Viper Thunder Classic Invitational at Verrado HS on Saturday, October 31.


The Band placed 3rd out of 4 and also won Outstanding Visual Performance and Outstanding Percussion in their class. The Spirit of Arcadia Marching Band has one more competition on November 21 at Mesquite High School for the AZMBA Championships (Arizona Marching Band Association).  Good Luck Spirit of Arcadia!
