Humanities Grants - 
Draft proposal period: July 8-Aug 14, 2015
Final application deadline: September 3, 2015

Humanities Grants emphasize collaboration among cultural, educational and community-based organizations and institutions in order to serve Michigan's people with public humanities programming. Talk to us and we will help you with your draft proposal! 

 

Maximum Humanities Grant Request:  $15,000.00 

Eligible Applicants: The applicant organization must be a nonprofit authorized to operate in the state of Michigan.

Heritage Grants are underway!   

 

On June 5, 2015 representatives from each of this years 26 projects were in attendance for the Heritage Grants Program Meeting. We gathered at the Michigan Women's Historical Center and Hall of Fame. The grantees came together to learn about each other's projects and discuss the variety of ways each organization is planning to address the histories of race in Michigan and questions of racial equity through humanities content. Projects have started and will continue through June 2016, spanning from southeast Michigan to the Western U.P.   Two exhibits are already underway:

Admission is free.  

 

 

Visit Harbor Springs History Museum, 349 E. Main Street, Harbor Springs, MI

Summer exhibit hours are Tuesday-Saturday from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm.

Plainwell Downtown Development Authority,

Join the statewide discussion and become a Great Michigan Read partner.  Partners receive reader's guides, teacher's guides, bookmarks, and other promotional materials. Libraries, schools, and select nonprofits are also eligible to receive free copies of "Station Eleven" while supplies last.

distributed in August 2015.

Quick and Planning Grants are OPEN!

Quick Grants provide up to $500 and Planning Grants provide up to $1,000 to Michigan-based nonprofit organizations for public humanities programs or services.
