Cycle of Prayer

Over the summer months many of our churches have developed creative programs for education, recreation and service to their communities.  These include things like vacation bible schools, summer day camps, and mission trips to places near and far.  Such ministries are recognized and appreciated. They touch countless lives both of our own church members and many others who come just to participate in these programs.

For the last several years St. Andrew's School has co-sponsored the Delaware College Scholars program.   St. Andrew's opens its doors to high school students from across Delaware giving them an opportunity to prepare for college life.  WHYY television recently featured the Delaware College Scholars program on its "First."  Here is a link to the broadcast.  You might enjoy learning about this exciting summer ministry.  You can view the video here.

Yesterday's Wilmington News Journal featured a story about Carol Shackleton.  She is retiring after 41 years as a volunteer counsellor for the ContactLifeline.  Carol was honored for her countless hours serving as a telephone counselor helping people from all backgrounds and ages deal with a broad array of life problems.  Carol, age 93, is a longtime, member of our diocese and an active participant in our clergy spouse community.   Congratulations on this recognition of a lifetime of service to others.

 Faithfully,
