Barbara Brizuela Memorial Service

A time of remembrance and reflection in honor of
Westlake's first Head of School.

On April 11, 2015, Westlake Academy's first Head of School Barbara Brizuela passed away surrounded by family and loved ones in her home in Buenos Aires, Argentina, after a courageous battle with Multiple Myeloma.

As many of you know, Mrs. Brizuela served our community as Westlake Academy's Head of School from August 2003 through 2008 and began the tradition of Flag on campus.

Please join Westlake friends, families, alumni, and current and former educators from around the globe, on July 23 at 6:30 p.m. for a memorial gathering to be held fittingly, around the flagpole, outside Westlake Academy's Multi-Purpose Hall on the Town Green, where Mrs. Brizuela held Flag for many years.

Barbara's husband Eliseo Brizuela, or Chango as he is affectionately known to many family and friends, will be in Westlake for a special visit at this time, along with one of their daughters and a granddaugther, allowing our community an opportunity to express sympathies to them in person.  Attendees will be encouraged to speak during the service if desired. All are welcome!
