George Ronkowitz began his ordained ministry upon ordination as a priest in 1971 in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Bridgeport, CT.  He served for over eight years in parish ministry.  His remaining three years as a Director of Development and teacher in an inner-city high school while being Director of a Diocesan wide Adult School of Spirituality.

Upon taking a leave of absence from ordained ministry he worked as a Personnel Administrator for Richardson-Vicks Inc. and subsequently as Director of Development for the University of Bridgeport. Married in1985 and with the support of his wife he began the process to having his orders recognized by the Episcopal Church.  He was received as a priest in the Diocese of Connecticut in December 1988.

At that time he began functioning as a bi-vocational or "worker" priest.  He served as a non-stipendiary assisting priest at St. Andrew's and St. Peter's Parish both in Milford, CT until 1995.  During this time he continued working at the University of Bridgeport and then as Vice President for Government Relations and Development at Park City Hospital in Bridgeport, CT.  In 1995 drawn by the desire to serve the Lord more deeply, he was asked to become the Vicar for Trinity-St. Michael's in Fairfield CT on a part-time basis until 2003.  He also worked as the Executive Director of the Naugatuck CT Housing Authority of which he served until April 2002.

In mid-2003 with the support of his wife and children and after much discernment and prayer, he and his family moved to Homestead, FL to answer a call to serve as Rector and Headmaster of St. John's Church and School.  His wife, Janice, died of cancer in 2007.   Fr. George has been recently married to his lovely bride, Lana.  He and Lana have four adult children.
