Out & About
with TACC President & CEO Donna Duperron
General Manager Reggie Thomas and Chef Ramon Fernandez
As I walked toward Kincaid's, I was reminded why I live where I live. It was a clear, crisp, cool day on the ocean. It was beautiful! Upon entering Kincaid's, I was greeted by chef and general manager Reggie Thomas. Kincaid's is an elevated seafood and steak options restaurant on the Redondo Beach pier with ocean views, patio seating and a buzzing happy hour.
Reggie's interest in cooking began in Ferriday, Louisiana where he passionately recalled memories of first helping his grandmother cut vegetables as she prepared meals, never using measuring spoons or a measuring cup or a cookbook. Reggie went to LSU and moved to California in 1986. He has had positions at Harold and Belle's Creole Restaurant, Hard Rock Café at the Beverly Center and has owned two restaurants.

Reality Check! BizFed Annual Survey is Invaluable Feedback Tool for TACC
The Torrance Area Chamber of Commerce (TACC) has partnered with the Los Angeles County Business Federation (BizFed) to encourage businesses and nonprofit organizations to complete the 2016 BizFed Pulse Poll. BizFed's annual poll is your chance to communicate what's helping or hurting your business. This year's poll offers a first-of-its-kind feature: if TACC can get at least fifteen members to take the survey, the Chamber will receive customized data based on our members' responses. This data would provide invaluable information and analysis that the Chamber needs to focus its advocacy efforts behind TACC members' priority concerns.
The survey will be open until March 31. At the end of the survey, please "click" the box next to Torrance Area Chamber of Commerce to let BizFed know you'd like to be counted towards TACC's response-count. Thank you!

Japan Business Association and Torrance Area Chamber of Commerce Grand Mixer a Success
The Western Museum of Flight provided a remarkable backdrop for the 17th annual Japan Business Association (JBA) and Torrance Area Chamber of Commerce (TACC) Grand Mixer last night. Jac Folkert, TACC Chairwoman of the Board, opened the event and was followed by words of welcome from Hideo Miyake, President of JBA, Torrance Mayor Patrick J. Furey and Consul General Hidehisa Horinouchi.
Attendees were provided the opportunity to listen to five business representatives from the JBA and five business representatives from the TACC highlight their business. These presentations sparked conversations about international trade, economic development and possible partnerships. Heartfelt appreciation is extended to TACC presenters; Jonathan Beutler, Sunrider International; Steve Coy, Clix South Bay; Dr. Okada, Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Center; TerriAnn Ferren, Torrance Cultural Arts Center and Bob and Laurie Brandt, Red Car Brewery and Restaurant.
