We are call, gathered and sent to be a people living, loving
and serving as Jesus did so that all may know Him.
From Pastor Linda

"Share each other's troubles and problems..."
~From Galatians 6

Dear Church:

Wondering about joining us on Thursday (January 14) from 7pm to 8:30pm in the Garden Chapel for Establishing a Dementia Friendly Community? Consider these statistics:
  • Did you know that 89,000 Minnesotans age 65+ live with Alzheimer's disease and the number is growing.
  • 1 in 9 people age 65+ has Alzheimer's disease.
  • One-third of people age 85+ have Alzheimer's disease.
  • 245,000 caregivers in Minnesota are caring for family members with Alzheimer's and other dementias.
  • Nearly 60% of people with Alzheimer's live in their own homes and need support from families and community members.
ACT on Alzheimer's is a statewide, volunteer-driven collaboration preparing communities in Minnesota for the personal, social, and budgetary impacts of Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia.

Why should faith communities be involved?

The Apostle Paul instructed us about caring for each other.
Galatians 6:2 (NLT) says, "Share each other's troubles and problems, and in this way obey the law of Christ." The Apostle Paul told us that God created us to be a blessing and help to each other and Jesus modeled the selfless life, always reaching out to help those in need.

How do we, as a faith community, reach out and support those in need? It begins be being educated and then creating an action plan. Our Befriender Team is hosting this event. Come, and learn more, for yourself and for God's Kingdom. (See more specific information below.)

See you on Thursday- invite a neighbor to come with you! Pastor Linda

Join me on Wednesdays at 6:30pm in the Garden Chapel for Adult Education as we explore FAITH.  What does it mean to Have Faith?  Together we will explore God, Religion, Jesus, Salvation and more!

Countdown to Hosanna's FMSC MobilePack
on April 1 & 2, 2016 = 79 Days!!
God has blessed Hosanna richly. You can   help reflect that love by supporting this mission to enrich the lives of so many   children by providing needed nutrition in order for them to thrive. We need to raise $30,000   to cover cost of the food and another $5,000  for building maintenance following the MobilePack. Hundreds of volunteers will be needed on
April 1 & 2 to help pack the food. Online registration for packing the food will be available around mid-February.

Ways YOU Can Help
  1. Take home a Change-4-Change glass jar and continue to fill it with loose change and/or currency and bring it to worship on Sunday mornings or Wednesday nights  at connect360.
  2. Write a check to "Hosanna" (write "FMSC" on memo line).
  3. Tell your family, friends, neighbors, coworkers, etc. about this MobilePack and ask them to sign up for one or more of the time slots or even organize a team to sign up.  In mid-February we should have a link for volunteers to sign up online for a packing time that best works for them.

Each season holds the potential for emotional health and happiness, and each one has its challenges.
This retreat will focus on helping  you and your partner identify which season your marriage is in, and show you how to enhance your marriage in all four seasons.

Register on a Yellow Page and place in offering basket or click HERE to register online.  Deadline to register is February 7th.
