This training seminar also qualifies as the needed hands-on inspection training for the Intertek Qualified Personnel (IQP) program for certified firestop inspectors.

Supplement Your Training

IBC 2012 and NFPA 1, widely adopted across the US,  both require inspection of firestopping to comply with standards ASTM E2174 and E2393. Since early 2014, the IFC has made available a free, self-paced online training curriculum for firestop special inspectors at:

To complement the extensive theoretical knowledge provided by the online training, the IFC is now proud to offer this day-long seminar to help plan and execute an inspection in full compliance with the ASTM standards.

Optional Day 2 (Feb. 9): Firestop Product Hands-On training

Inspectors attending the seminar are encouraged to stay for an additional educational session on Tuesday, February 9. This 6-hour educational session will provide hands-on training on the correct installation details and unique features of firestop products from 4-5 of the major North American manufacturers. Register for Day 2 while you complete your registration for the inspector seminar.
This product training will meet the product familiarization training required for the IFC Special Inspector Certificate program.
