On this Fourth  Sunday in Lent our Gospel Lesson is a collection of four "giving stories":
  1. A scribe gives Jesus a theological question, the third in a Q&A session at the temple.
  2. Jesus gives his inquisitors an unanswerable "riddle".
  3. Jesus gives the crowd a harsh warning about hypocritical scribes.
  4. A widow gives all that she has to God; Jesus gives her praise.
And throughout all four stories we are being given a lesson in "loving God and loving neighbor".

+ give

We began on  Sunday, Feb. 7, and are extending through the season of Lent, congregations across the ELCA will join together to raise $2 million to benefit the ministries of ELCA World Hunger. This support will enable crucial work to get underway and help us kick-start our year-of-emphasis.  You can continue to give at the Wednesday services or on Sunday.  To date we have raised $1568.75. OVER our
$1,000 pledge. Thank you. Let's keep giving!
+ Congregation Council

On Sunday, March 13 , we will be conducting the election for President and Vice-President of the Congregation Council for the next two years.  Voting will be available 30 minutes prior to and following each service that Sunday morning as well as between services.  The candidates are Allen Ray, President, and Katie Wadington, Vice-President.  We hope that all members will cast their vote in this election for the leadership of our congregation.

The scouts, committee members and parents of BSA troop 8 sponsored by Nativity want to express our sincere appreciation to the congregation not only for a great turn-out, but also for their very generous donations for the recent Shrove Tuesday pancake event on March 9, 2016. Donation of funds will be allocated to support various troop activities throughout the year.
