Spring is a beautiful thing,
In the midst of the ups and downs of the weather lately, we're still thawing out from the winter cold with all your hard work and warm smiles. Barely two steps into the New Year, and we're already breaking a sweat with all this activity!

Always looking to the future, we're excited to bring in a brand new cohort of volunteer leaders (which can include you!), expand our programs, and celebrate our friends through a Mardi Gras-themed night of partying! Learn more about how you can get involved this month, and this spring, in this month's newsletter.

Volunteer Star:
Alejandra Linares

Alejandra Linares, originally from Mexico, always liked helping people. In Mexico she volunteered one-on-one with individuals with disabilities: taking them to the park, movies, and other fun activities. A year and a half ago she moved to the States and works as an Au Pair while going to school part time studying Industrial Design. She stumbled upon Jersey Cares back in December and, in any free time she can find, loves to volunteer. Her favorite project is Saturday Social in Morristown, as she loves to see smiles on the seniors' faces. She recently became a PC and is looking to get more involved in leading future projects with Jersey Cares.

Corporate Corner

As we slowly and steadily approach springtime, children in New Jersey are jumping at the bit to get outside, run in the grass, play ball, smell the flowers, and of course, ride their bikes! What beats a bicycle ride on a sunny spring afternoon? For a child, nothing gets much better than that. In order to ensure that children don't miss out on this childhood joy, MetLife volunteers teamed up to assemble 25 bicycles that were donated to a youth education center in Morristown, NJ. With thanks for the guidance of the staff from The Bicycle Store in Florham Park, NJ, the bicycles were given their final safety checks and delivered straight to Morristown where they were distributed to some very excited children.
