GDYF Auction and Donations Grow Again in Savannah
Written by Allison Fortner

The annual Georgia Dairy Youth Foundation fundraising auction saw another year of success at the Georgia Dairy Conference in Savannah,
Donald Yoder receives the 2016 Larry Guthrie Award as Carol Williams recognizes his dedication to GDYF.
Georgia, on Jan. 18, 2016.

Carol Williams, GDYF president, took the podium at the conclusion of the evening banquet to recognize a long-time supporter of the youth foundation. Williams presented the 2016 Dr. Larry Guthrie award to Donald Yoder in recognition of his dedication to GDYF activities.
Congratulations to Donald on this well-deserved recognition.

Following the award, the evening took an exciting turn as the GDYF auction began with Phil Harvey serving as auctioneer. Industry affiliates and producers alike competed in high-speed bidding to purchase items to benefit Georgia dairy youth programs. The auction raised a total of $18,925, while providing plenty of entertainment for banquet attendees.
Paul Harvey serves as auctioneer for the GDYF auction as Carol Williams displays a donated item.

This is the largest amount the auction has raised since the beginning of GDYF in 2009. Thank you to all who donated items and participated in bidding during the auction!

With a successful auction and generous conference attendees, the funds continued to grow with contributions to the Calves for Kids program, which asks donors to give the market price of a bull calf to support GDYF. This year's gifts were equal to the price of 27 calves!

Thank you to everyone who made the fundraiser another successful one and contributed to the growth of Georgia's dairy youth!
