State Grant Awarded to the PLNL

The Public Library of New London is pleased to announce that the library has been awarded $3,000 by the Connecticut State Library Board

for a new initiative to reach out to parents and guardians of children under the age of 4 to provide them with pre-literacy tools to help ensure that their children will arrive at school ready to read. Every Child Ready to Read programs will be held at multiple community locations and will be provided simultaneously in English and Spanish to ensure inclusivity. Parents will be encouraged to practice what they learned while reading, singing, and reciting rhymes to their children at home.

Free Summer Lunches

Every Weekday
1:00 pm - 1:30 pm


 

Free summer lunches will be provided at the library for children and teens, 18 and under, every weekday in the summer.

Horses and Heroes
Art Workshop with the
Lyman Allyn Museum

This week we celebrate the heroes of the art world with an art 

workshop by the Lyman Allyn Museum.

 

Hero: Roman Emperor, Marcus Aurelius.

 

Project: Sculpting equestrian statues (participants will use clay, wire and wood to design and create their own horse sculptures)
