A NOTE FROM OUR FOUNDER

Here we are going into March. The good news is St Paddy's is coming. A fun and celebrating time for all the Irish and those that wish to be Irish. The rest of the month we will work as the first quarter will come to an end and it will be time to take  measure   of  how we are doing.

As the Leprechauns count their shill-ans out of sight, we will examine  what we will need to do to better serve the needs of the industry  better.

At TNG, we are developing more techniques in relation to 3D scanning to give you better models. We are getting deeper into developing cars and products to expand our markets with our high-tech scanners, skilled modelers, and our mobility.

We are always researching new technology and software to keep the quality of our service at the highest level, and to accelerate our pipeline. We do our best to provide a great product to our customers.

We continue our search for partners who are synergistic to our service. Together we can help our customers save more while using better products. Contact us

DIGITAL CHARACTERS
Where Does Your Character
Come From?

The characters in our projects come from all over the world, yet they all have something in common. Whether it be a digital double of a celebrity, or just someone with an interesting look, they have a likeness that is crucial to creating a character that helps drive the story.

What if you can't find the person who has all of the features you're looking for? They can be created from a composite of multiple individuals, with each feature selected from someone different. You can use one person's nose, someone else's eyes, and yet another person's mouth.

You could also create an original character straight from your imagination with the help of sculpting or modeling packages. Use a 3D scan to populate an asset that can morph or blend shape.

Take any of the above as a base, and further develop their look in post. This is where other factors will come into
play, such as rigging, cyber cloth, and hair - all of which could cause the necessary or desired look to change.

Your character can literally come from anywhere or anything!
TECHNOLOGY
Creating A Hero

It's hard to imagine who our Superheroes would be today if it weren't for VFX.
Fiction lovers began to seek more action and grit after films such as
Spawn (1997) and
Blade (1998) released; gone was the campiness of the pre-90's era.

Parallel to that, the entire landscape of animation had begun to change. Beautiful 2D animated features slowed to a halt, and 3D animation gained momentum - cue
The  Incredible s (2004).

So how do we make a modern day Superhero? It starts with a concept, very often a visual concept of a character in a comic book that is 2D. Talent is selected, and they'll typically undergo 3D scanning for body measurements, costume design, and the crafting of VFX shots

What about their surroundings? Imagine a mid-air fight sequence with two characters throwing each other into buildings. The real-world location of the scene could be 3D scanned to create a digitally destructible environment which is true to scale. This allows for flexibility in camera moves, and the ability to manipulate properties, particles, and the like.

Heroes are made everyday, and will likely become more accessible as we continue to advance in technologies. While the sea of Superheroes today are wildly popular, a new wave is always on the horizon.
3D SCANNING
More Than Just People

Now that you have your characters taken care of, let's continue the discussion on large objects and environments. How else are you going to crash that classic car, demolish that city building, or blow up that 350ft. freighter on the dock?

Chevelle

Equally as important, how are you going to get it done on a budget? The answer starts with a reliable 3D scanning service. All of the objects mentioned above are well within the scope of current scanning capabilities, and you can get the most competitive rate by booking one company to handle all of your scanning needs. Of course, be sure to examine their work first to ensure that you're getting the most bang for your buck. As the saying goes, you get what you pay for.

Start with their portfolio of renders, and ask questions regarding the process that was done to complete them. Questions such as shooting format, delivery formats, texture mapping options, and finishing capability in terms of pipeline.

As we've stated before, digital content is the way to go in the event you may need to add or edit in post. The best part is, some of those digital assets will be a time and expense saver in the event of a sequel!
