Road Clearing in Progress
Unprecedented Snowfall Rate/Depths
Montgomery Township received up to 30 inches of snow in less than 24 hours, exceeding the blizzard of 1996 and possibly all single snowfall records.  Our road crews have been plowing around the clock since midnight Friday, concentrating on our main roads and crews are currently working on subdivision roadways. The rapid accumulation of snow and high winds created drifts which made it difficult for smaller plow trucks to clear snow during the storm.

Public Works crews will have all roads passable by this evening and will be working during the week to widen travel lanes.

Help Montgomery Clear Roads: Remove trash cans from near street & clear snow to the plow's downdrift side of your driveway (right side if facing street). Please do not shovel snow into the streets.

Go to www.mtsd.k12.nj.us  to check for school closing announcements for Monday. The Township Kid Connection program will follow the public schools' decision.

Thank you to all residents for your cooperation and patience during and after the snow storm as we continue to work to improve road conditions.

See the Township DPW Winter Seasonal Notices page for further guidances: http://www.twp.montgomery.nj.us/departments/public-works/seasonal-notice/#snow .

As the snow melts this week, please be careful of crossing any areas of water running across roadways.  Streams may still be rising for days following heavy precipitation.

Township municipal offices will be opening tomorrow at 8 a.m. as usual.

The safety of our residents is always our #1 priority in Montgomery Township.  Again, thank you for your cooperation during this record-setting snow event.
