Your Opportunity to Give Input on the Baldrige Excellence Framework

For 28 years, organizational leaders have depended on the Baldrige framework to help them reach their goals, improve results, and become more competitive. To make sure that the Criteria always represent the leading edge of validated leadership and performance practice, the Baldrige Performance Excellence Program continually gathers input from role-model organizations and from studies of these organizations and their CEOs to inform the evolution of the framework.

To further build this body of knowledge, you are invited to submit your answers to two key questions by June 30, 2016.

Examiner Spotlight: Rosemarie Forster

Rosemarie Forster serves as the Quality Manager at Milwaukee County Emergency Medical Services and has served on the Board of Examiners for 14 years.

What is something your fellow examiners would be surprised to know about you?

I'm a first generation American, very entrenched in my German heritage. I belong to a Bavarian culture society whose mission is to uphold our ethnic dress, dance and language.

When you are not evaluating an application, how do you like to spend your free time?

I'm an avid reader, a history buff, spend a lot of time with my ethnic dancing group and I love to travel.

What first interested you in becoming an examiner?

I landed a job in EMS quality - a brand new field - and decided I needed more education in quality principles. I obtained my MS in Organizational Leadership and Quality, a program through Marian College (now University) based on the Baldrige principles. I signed up for a seminar given by (at that time) WFA, and was recruited as an examiner and have returned every year.

What has been a highlight or greatest take-away as an examiner?

I've been an examiner since 2002 and have learned something new every cycle. I love site visits and the positive energy of high-performing organizations.
