Adult Mentoring ProgramSecond
Keri Shelton, Agnes Blackwell, Gloria Vargas, Charla Adams, Lori Keys, & Toby Jones
Thank you to the National Reentry Resource Center, for featuring graduates of the Family Pathfinders adult Mentoring program! Unemployment, substance use, and mental health needs are just some of the barriers to successful reentry from incarceration that the women in Tarrant County's IDT program face. Despite these challenges, a group of 70 women who enrolled in Family Pathfinders' adult reentry Mentoring program smashed through the recidivism barrier. Although women in Tarrant County's IDT program historically recidivate at a rate of 50 percent or higher, less than 15 percent of women enrolled in the Mentoring program reoffended over a two-year period! The entire article can be seen at, https://csgjusticecenter.org/reentry/posts/sca-grantee-achieves-dramatic-results-for-high-risk-women/
America Saves Week Second
America Saves Week is coordinated by America Saves and the American Savings Education Council. Started in 2007, the Week is an annual opportunity for organizations around the country to promote good savings behavior and a chance for individuals to assess their own saving status.  America Saves is a national campaign involving more than 1,000 non-profit, government, and corporate groups that encourages individuals and families to save money and build personal wealth. Overall management for the campaign is provided by the non-profit Consumer Federation of America (CFA), which is comprised of over 270 consumer education, advocacy, and cooperative organizations dedicated to advancing consumer interest.
