New decade, new name, new website!
As Western Maryland AHEC enters its 40th year of service, it can't be said that we don't change with the times. In order to better reflect the area served and to help differentiate us from other health care entities in the region, WMAHEC will now be the Maryland Area Health Education Center West, or AHEC West.
While we boast a new name and a new website,

, we want our partners and community to know that even though our name has changed, the quality of the services we provide has not. Our ongoing mission to improve access to and promote quality in health care through educational and other partnerships remains intact. In our 40th year, we are going strong!
The change in name was done to better reflect the region served by our agency; as our programs grow, the region served has grown as well, and as grant funding permits now includes communities in nearby West Virginia and Pennsylvania.
