Santa Cruz Breakers Academy is starting the spring season with exciting news!  As we gear up for the U.S. Soccer Development Academy U12 and U13 Academies this fall, we have appointed San Jose Earthquakes' Legendary player and captain, Ramiro Corrales, as our U12 Breakers Academy coach. We are also continuing our partnership with the City of Watsonville to host the Santa Cruz Breakers Pumas, and we are holding our first Spring Cup tournament on March 12th and 13th. Last but not least, we are accepting registrations for our Spring 4v4 League for players born in 2009 and 2010.

We are excited to expand our U.S. Soccer Development Academy program to include the U12 and U13 Academies this fall!  These new Academy age groups complement our current U14, U16 and U18 academies and create a complete developmental pathway for highly motivated players who wish to train and compete at the highest levels available. Santa Cruz Breakers Academy is one of only 3 U.S. Development Academies in the south Bay Area, and the only full Academy program serving the Central Coast and San Benito, Monterey and Santa Cruz counties. Quakes Legend Ramiro Corrales to head U12 Academy

Santa  Cruz Breakers Academy is proud to announce the appointment of Ramiro Corrales, the legendary San Jose Earthq uakes player, captain and recent Hall of Fame inductee, as its U1 2 Academy Head Coach effective immediately.

A native of Salinas, Corrales' impressive playing career includes over 15 years of professional playing experience in the MLS with the San Jose Earthquakes, where he joined team in its inaugural season, and led the team as captain from 2008 until his retirement in 2013.  He was the last of the original 1996 players to retire, and was inducted as the 9th member of the San Jose Earthquakes' Hall of Fame in September of last year. In addition, Ramiro earned six caps for the United States National Team and represented the United States in the 2000 Summer Olympics.  

Ramiro is looking forward to heading up the Santa Cruz Breakers U12 Academy in its inaugural year, and is particularly interested in developing the playing talent from the South Bay, Central Coast and Salinas regions to the highest level possible.   For more information about Ramiro, visit our website.  To learn more about our Academy Coaching staff, please visit our   Coaching Staff  page. 
Breakers Academy Spring Cup
On March 12th and 13th, we will be hosting our first Breakers Academy Spring Cup Tournament!  The Breakers Academy Spring Tournament is designed to give U8-U13 boys and girls teams a fun opportunity to prepare for the new spring playing formats before league starts later next month.  Over 60 teams are registered to play in this first year tournament. Pumas U.N.A.M./City of Watsonville's Youth Soccer Program partners with Santa Cruz Breakers Academy for its 3rd season!
Santa Cruz Breakers Academy is excited to continue its partnership with the City of Watsonville Parks and Community Services Department for its 3rd season.  The Santa Cruz Breakers Pumas teams began playing under the Santa Cruz Breakers Academy organization a year ago, with 2 boys teams (U12 and U9) and 1 girls team.  Only a year later, the program has grown to a total of 8 teams: 5 boys teams (03, 04, 05, 06 and 07) and 3 girls teams (04, 06 and 07).  Over the past year, both the players and the coaches have benefitted from coaching clinics and trainings run by the Santa Cruz Breakers Academy Coaching staff. Santa Cruz Breakers Pumas play their home games at Cabrillo College, and are managed by Jaime Jimenez from the City of Watsonville Parks and Community Services Department.  
Spring 4v4 League
Santa Cruz Breakers Academy is dedicated to developing boys of all ages and abilities, starting at an early age.  The 2016 4v4 Developmental Spring League is designed for players born in 2009 and 2010 who wish to develop their technical skills in a fun, engaging and stimulating setting under the guidance of  the Santa Cruz Breakers Academy licensed professional youth coaching staff.   4v4 is the preferred developmental format of youth coaches worldwide, providing a fast-paced, high-touch environment to further increase game play comprehension.    Click here to learn more, or to register for the program.
