HOPE AND HEALING WITH A CANCER DIAGNOSIS
March 1st @ 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM
Join us for a discussion on faith and hope in cancer recovery. There is plenty of general information out there for someone who is diagnosed with cancer, but if you are seeking personalized information or to discuss emotions, concerns, fears, hopes... this is where CanCare can help. CanCare has hundreds of volunteers who are available to help others by listening and sharing their own experiences with
cancer. They have a firsthand perspective that you just can't get from a computer screen. CanCare can help people understand what to expect, discuss side effects of treatment, recommend information and resources, and listen when a patient or caregiver needs to talk. Each CanCare volunteer is a living symbol of someone who has overcome similar challenges with cancer.

Adoption Care Group - Amy Bezecny, MDiv Leading Group
3rd Thursdays @ 6
:00 - 7:30 PM
St. Luke's United Methodist Church
3471 Westheimer Campus
Houston, TX 77027
Adoption Care is a ministry of St. Luke's and exists to provide a safe place for foster and adoptive families to connect with others who are on the same journey. The evening starts out with a meal provided by volunteers. This is St. Luke's way of saying we really do care.
Separate parent and child break-out groups mean parents can open up about their frustrations, joys and their needs. Children bond with others who have been through foster/adoption and find their voice in a safe, nurturing setting.
To become a group participant or for more information on how to volunteer, contact Erica Stark at 713-357-4471 or estark@stlukesmethodist.org.
