Creating Age-Friendly Communities
Last year, with support from the Southwest Initiative Foundation, Wilder Research conducted an assessment of the needs of aging residents in southwest Minnesota. The Creating Age-Friendly Communities report describes the changing demographics and potential strategies to support older adults in the region.

Now, the Foundation is offering a $100,000 grant to fund an innovative project that addresses the needs identified in the report for the 18-county southwest Minnesota region. Don't wait: pre-applications are due March 1, 2016.

Updated Civic Engagement Section

Minnesota Compass recently launched a newly revised and updated Civic Engagement section, loaded with information and resources to inform our efforts to encourage active participation from everyone living in our community. In all three of the Civic Engagement key measures - voter turnout, volunteerism, and neighbors helping neighbors - Minnesota ranks among the top 10 states.

The new Civic Engagement section was unveiled at the 2016 Compass Annual Meeting, a chance to highlight key trends in Minnesota's communities with a focus on equity and civic engagement. Read the event wrap up, get the slideshows, and look through the photo gallery.
