Students pitch business ideas at EPICentre  
 
EPIC Innovation recently held an EPIC Mentoring Event for Dr. Tepe's Electrical Engineering course and Dr. Schlosser's Lean Startup course. On January 29th, over 60 student entrepreneurs in 28 groups gathered to receive feedback from experienced mentors in various areas such as marketing, finance, intellectual property and strategy on how to move their business forward.  READ MORE  
EPIC members tour World Class Manufacturing Academy

On Monday January 25th, 12 members of the EPICentre team including past and present incubator members, EPIC Founders participants, and staff were invited to a tour at World Class Manufacturing Academy in Warren, Michigan where they took part in hands-on activities to help them continue to innovate and think outside the box.  READ MORE
 
On Friday February 26th, the Masters of Medical Biotechnology Program and EPICentre collaboratively hosted the Growing BE (Biotechnology Entrepreneurship) workshop at the Katzmann Lounge in Vanier Hall. The workshop saw over 70 students and community members who came out to learn leadership skills and how to pitch themselves in order to achieve their career goals. READ MORE      
EPICentre is officially taking applications for the RBC EPIC Founders Program   

The EPIC Founders program is intended to teach startup founders the theory of the Lean Startup, while working through the Business Model Canvas and Starting Lean methodology. Students work on their business and are paid full-time from May to July to work with mentors on their minimum viable product. Submission deadlines are March 20th.  READ MORE

Future Entrepreneurs Association hosts Entrepreneurship Hackathon at University of Windsor

The Future Entrepreneurs Association (FEA) hosted the University of Windsor's first campus-wide Entrepreneurship Hackathon event which was co-sponsored by the Entrepreneur Practice and Innovation Centre (EPICentre) and the University of Windsor Students' Alliance (UWSA).  READ MORE

EPIC Blue Sky Competition: Win up to $1500!
 
This idea competition allows students to develop 2-minute video pitches in multi-disciplinary teams. The event is hosted in March, but applications are accepted at any time. Eligible applications must come from students from the University of Windsor or St. Clair College and teams of 2-4 students made up of 2 different disciplines.  READ MORE

The Lancer's Lair is being offered as a part of the UWill Discover undergraduate research conference and is available to all conference presenters who wish to explore how to develop and apply their research work to a marketable business concept.  READ MORE  
Opportunity: The Startup 100

This year, The Startup 100 is back and will be accessible to students across Canada. The Startup 100 is currently looking for students who are committed to developing their entrepreneurial skills. Through this project, students will receive weekly content through an online forum that will help them to develop entrepreneurial skills.  READ MORE

Do You Have an Accessible Idea? The University of Windsor, in partnership with the Council of Ontario Universities and the Government of Ontario, is excited to announce the Innovative Designs for Accessibility (IDeA) student competition for the 2015-2016 academic year. The submission deadline is March 3rd.  READ MORE

The Ontario Centres of Excellence TalentEdge Internship Program is now open to college and university final-year undergraduate students from across all disciplines and all areas of specialization.

IBM Watson AI XPrize: A Cognitive Computing Competition

 The IBM Watson AI XPRIZE, a Cognitive Computing Competition, was announced on the TED Stage on Feb 17, 2016. It is a $5 million competition challenging teams from around the world to develop and demonstrate how humans can collaborate with powerful cognitive technologies to tackle some of the world's grand challenges.  READ MORE  
Ontario Brain Institute launches 2016 OBI Entrepreneurs Competition

The Ontario Brain Institute (OBI) has officially launched the 2016 OBI Entrepreneurship Competition. This innovative initiative funds and supports scientists in neurotechnology, science or engineering in entrepreneurial/commercialization opportunities to help establish neuroscience-related companies in the NeuroTech Ontario sector.  READ MORE
